Quilting update!

Of course, I can't walk into a quilt shop without going ga ga over the fabric. This one particularly caught my eye. It's Moda's new line "Collection For A Cause" supporting Ovarian Cancer research. So I bought the fat quarter set of 40 fabrics and the pattern to go with it. Penny at Homestead Quilts is making a model for the shop. I decided that I like this pattern "Spiced Apples" better and I'll have enough fabric to make two 60" X 60" quilts with leftovers. I suppose I could make them a bit larger, we'll see, I have a tendancy to alter patterns to my desires. The all brown fabric will be the backing & binding. The brown background print fabric will be the border. I've ordered one of the turquoise prints to use as another slim border too.

Now, to finish the quilt that is currently all over my sewing room before I start another. That's my problem... I get inspired to start another before the one I'm currently doing is finished. Hence, my huge stash which Jim calls my fabric store. I must have at lest as many quilts in progress as I do cross stitch WIPs.

  1. So nice to meet another NCIS fan, along with the others. My mouth literally dropped open at the ending. How long have you been quilting? Love the materials. Haven't gotten into it, though I want to. Made one simple baby quilt years ago and haven't since! So I look forward to watching your blog!
