Wow, it's been a while! We're traveling in our motorhome and I haven't had on-line access too often. Just a quick update then. I've finished the lily pictured below. Sorry, no photo yet. Working on a Nutcracker ornament for an exchange right now. Stitching's going a bit slower than I'd hoped. Stitching in the car is a whole lot different than in a moving motorhome. And I brought a ton of cross stitch "stuff" with me thinking I'd get soooo much done while Jim drove. I'll keep plodding along and try to get an update in here when I can.

Beware of the lady with the needle!

WIP's

Welcome back... I've just returned from a 3 day women's retreat in the Cascade Mountains. It was hosted by the Coos Tribe for the Elder Women and the spouses of the Elder Men. I've never done anything with Jim's tribe before but I had a ball! I roomed with Jim's cousin and a cousin-in-law. We were like teen-agers. I had sooo much fun and it was so relaxing. Learned a little beading, had time for some stitching, walked in the beautiful gardens and woods. The pool was fed by natural hot springs. As well as getting aquainted with so many wonderful women and the fun and crafts this was a very spiritual time for me. I feel rejuvenated and happy! I would recommend women's retreats for all of you (ladies, of course)!

Here's a photo of the WIP I did on the retreat. Almost finished!

bags & purses

Bag for Teresa.

With all the "motorhome" activites and having the neighbor girls staying here, I haven't done much stitching lately. I did finish up a purse I'm giving to my neighbor, Teresa. Whipped up two other purses (without patterns). My sil, Cheryl, wanted a new tote for our trip. I don't know if it's large enough and haven't gotten feedback whether or not she even likes it. We'll see! And of course, I let it go without a photo of it! Got to stop doing that! Anyways, the one for me is just what I like, lots of pockets inside and one outside.
I've got a quilt top ready for the quilter's but don't know if I'll have time to get a backing ready before we leave. And I've been working on an ornament for an exchange! I mucked that up so may be easier to just start it over. Good thing I have a bit of time before Christmas.

CSFC - Morgan's Quilt

Finally! I have finished a quilt for CSFC (Cross Stitch For Charity). This one goes to a little girl, Morgan, in Minnesota. This is the first quilt I have sewn for this group. It is also the largest quilt I have sewn on my own machine. Quite a task! I have to admit I was pretty intimitated by the size and did a fair amount of procrastinating.

Christmas Ornaments

Well, I've been busy making Christmas ornaments. Several are for exchanges, most are for charity. It's great fun to be stitching some little charts again. I plan to spend most of my time stitching & making ornaments while we're on our "Grand Motorhome Adventure". You'll need to check out our other blog brainardsbanter.blogspot.com to find out all about that. Soooo... now I'll attempt to add a few photos of the ornaments. CYL

A new Beginning

Hi everyone, I was feeling the need to keep a separate blog just for myself and my stitching interests. So, here we go!! I'll be keeping you updated on some of my work and just my life in general. Welcome to my place!
