Just one more post before I go!!

Yipee! First snow of the season! We awoke this morning to several inches of snow! It started snowing yesterday but didn't look like it would stick. Today it's covering everything! I'm very sure it won't affect my flight as the airport is quite a bit farther down the mountains from us. Just an inconvenience! It's finally stopped and I'm praying for a warming trend! Not likely by the looks of the sky!

And now, on the stitching front! I have a photo of a WIP: the first part of the Christmas SAL from the Marquoir group. This SAL is an exclusive to the group from Tam's Creations.

The Red Thread

OMG! I was sure I had shown you this piece before. Looking back through my blog I found it on May 1st. Now that's just pitiful! I'm finished with all the blocks and am about 2/3ds done with the border. This is going to be a bear to frame so I'm sure it will have to be done professionally. That means next year!

WIPs

Figure it's about time I showed what I have been doing when I can...

This is barely a start on my last freebie for the SanMan board. Its' called "Magic Hat". It's part of the 12 Days of Christmas SAL. I'm hoping Robin will accept this as enough for me to get the next piece in this SAL as we have to show a photo of each piece to get the next one. Shamefully, I've been so involved in SALs this year I haven't done any Christmas stitching other than these.

SMO It's All Square progress

This is as far as I've gotten... The "O" is "Orange Juice", which I don't care for. I plan to change it to "Ort Jar". Sandy doesn't mind us stitchers taking liberties in personalizing her designs. The charts through "R" have been released now so I'm not too far behind yet.

Catching up

Well, I've made some progress on my SMO "It's all Square". Only one week behind! That's pretty good for me. I think I've got four SALs started and several other pieces in the works. Others talk about stitching in a rotation, just doesn't work for me. I like to stitch on whatever I like, when I like. Sometimes this leaves me a bit behind on some committments tho.

We're leaving for the coast Monday morning and I've got several WIPs ready to take with me. I don't expect to be riding much as my back is already killing me. I'm as nervous as a cat about this trip though. It's the first time we're taking Moses (the cat) with us in the motorhome. So far he likes to sit in there but I don't know what to expect when the engine starts up. He's pretty laid back, so it should be ok.

SMO It's All Square progress

I'm almost caught up! THe SAL is up to letter N. This one is really fun to do. Sandy keeps us guessing what item the next letter will be.

SAL Catia Dias

Well, here's my update on the Catia Dias' SAL. I'm enjoying this and it's a great exercise in counting.

San-Man SAL

Speaking of San-Man Originals, I'm doing Sandy's SAL, Hip To Be Square. It's an alphabet and I'm only on B. Here's my progress!

SAL Catia Dias

This is where I was as of June 1 on the Catia Dias SAL. Quite a bit farther now, just no pic yet. I'm using Catia's colors, amazing how they're going together. However I started this on 28 ct using one over. What an eye strainer! My old eyes aren't enjoying this like I wanted to.

WIPs

Ooh! Pft! I'm so disgusted! This is my progress on the BoINK SAL. I thought I was being soooo careful and marking & counting! The whole thing's off by two lousy stitches on each side. There's nothing to be done but start over. I'm just sick about it! I probably won't restart this for quite some time, there are just too many other things I want to stitch. Hopefully I can salvage what's stitched here and make something else out of it. Yet again, I may just save myself a lot of agonizing and toss this out.

WIPs

Well, I decided to start the Catia Dias SAL. Big challenge! I'm working on 28ct. with one thread over one. Pretty tiny! But I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm using the colors just as Catia designed it.

WIPs

Some progress has been made on the Red Thread piece, as you can see. I did finally find the border chart again so I've worked on that as well as the May square.

The Shop Hop went well and we were very busy. I did actually make it to four of the shops. I knew I wouldn't get to all of them. I found some sale fabric in a line from Winter '06 that I wanted. My big sale purchase!! Funny how those bits & pieces add up!

WIPs

Well here it is! I wasn't going to work on this any more until I got caught up. Couldn't resist! Just one more square!! Oh yes, I found the border chart finally! That's one less thing on my mind. But I want to sit right down and stitch it now. Can't do it! Got graduations and weddings and commitments to meet!

WIPs

I've finished the first segment of my Spanish Sampler Mystery SAL! Photos to follow! Had to run Jim back to emergency Friday night and of course I had my stitching.

I've now started the April segment of The Red Thread. I can't find my border chart for this, Big Panic! Will have to tear my sewing room apart, ugh!

I've got to finish a piece I've been ignoring for some time. It's for WOCS and on dark fabric, ugh! That's why it keeps getting overlooked, I can't see when I stitch on dark fabric. I originally signed up for two of these squares but Donna has so graciously offered to do the second piece. Younger eyes!

Oh my, in looking for my Red Thread border chart I'm finding all sorts of goodies I've been meaning to do and several WIPs. I've far more than I'll ever finish in my life time. And I keep buying charts. I think it's officially an addiction!! That makes THREE addictions now! Yikes, I'm out of control! Cross stitch, quilting and this darned computer! Gonna have to limit my computer time so I can get some of my other addictions done!
