It's Back and A Finish

Well... yesterday the sun came out & melted all the snow away. This morning I awoke to this view from sewing room window...
I've finally finished both Florin and Guilder by Tracy Horner of Ink Circles. Stitched on 32ct Hand Dyed Silkweaver fabric of unnamed color. I changed the colors to better match this fabric which is a lavender/blue/purple. The threads are all GAST, Apricot Blush, Avacado, Black Raspberry Jam, Forest Glade, and Purple Iris. I have two skeins of Purple Iris. One is very dark and the other is very light. I used some of each on these.
Now I'm off to finish some housework. Ugh! Pay some bills. UGH!! Read my friends blogs. Yeah! And choose a new project to stitch. YEAH!!

SNOW....Already!!!

We had a great week-end! The grandsons came for a visit which always turns this place into a zoo. Best of all... it started snowing. They were thrilled. However, they weren't prepared with appropriate clothing. Freezing fingers... ouch!

Awoke this morning to a winter wonderland. It's still snowing and we have 4-5 inches. I'm sure the sun will come out soon & all will melt. The first snow of the season seldom lasts. Wonder if this is an indication of a hard winter??

DH must live under a lucky star! He's a procrastinator. So are his sons. Genetic, I think! Anyways, he kept putting off winterizing the motorhome. Lord knows we can't afford to go South this year. Then he ends up in the hospital & having surgery. Now he can't do the winterizing himself & Tom has injured his back recently so he's no help. I can't do it as I recently had back surgery. What a fix!! Enter son #2, Patrick! He & the boys arrive and DH instantly puts Pat to work winterizing both ours and Tom's rigs. Whew! Just in time for the first snow! MEN!

On the stitching front... very little got done this week-end. Last night I continued stitching on Ink Circles Florin. This pair, Guilder and Florin are going to be lovely. But I'm itching to start something new. I need to start organizing what I'll be taking with me when I go visit my granddaughter.

Oh, didn't I tell you? I'm leaving November 3rd at O'dark-thirty. Flying to Alabama to spend a month with my grandgirl. Heaven! I can hardly wait!

So, I'm off now to put this place back in order & do mountains of laundry. Sigh!

Ain't It The Truth?

This was in yesterday's newspaper. My DH cut it out & placed it on my desk. LOL I'm surprised he didn't change the cat's name to Moses and knitting to stitching or even keyboard. Those happen to be Mo's favorite places to lay. Enjoy!

Giveaways and Blogoversaries!

They're everywhere! They're everywhere! Oh my! I just can't believe the number of giveaways and blogoversaries out here in Blog Land! Everybody's having them!

Well... I've just realized I will be having a blogoversary next week! What shall I do? What shall I do? Soooo... while I contemplate that and just what to do about it, here's Debbie's bolgoversary giveaway that I'm absolutely drooling about. I adore FROGs! No, no, hot the stitchy kind! The flower kind. They remind me of my granny. Isn't it a beauty?!

As Summer Comes To An End...

DH is mowing the lawn and it got me to thinking about our weather lately. We've had freezing temperatures for the past three nights. I've been turning on the furnace in the mornings just to take the chill off. Yet, by mid-day we're ready to turn on the AC.
The birds must be migrating South too. We need to fill the feeders every day now. It's amazing to watch the different birds that visit us.
Finally, we have our finished patio and fire ring! Jim's nephew started this project for us over a year ago. Then he was transferred to Pennsylvania (oh, how we miss them!). I hired two young men from church to come finish the job. Don't you think they did a great job? Next spring we'll plant some shrubs along the fenceline.
We had a bar-be-que/weinie roast last week-end while the grandsons were here. Too much fun!!!

Here's my sweet Kelly girl... she's starting to show her age.

With all the close-out sales on patio furniture lately I couldn't resist this little glider and table for our front porch. The seats we had there were quite uncomfortable. Moses (the cat) says this is very nice, relaxing and comfortable!

'Puter Problems and a Giveaway

I am having the worst problems with my desktop computer! Somehow I think we caught a bug! Anyhoo... we're heading to the coast in the morning so it will have to wait a while before the Geek Guys get a look at it. Meanwhile, I'll try to keep up on the laptop (providing the campground has Wi-Fi).

On a brighter note... while cruising the internet I found the most wonderful blog by Marie. She is such an enabler and is having a giveaway in honor of her birthday. Happy Birthday Marie! Now y'all go take a look in a hurry 'cuz time's running out.

On Tuesday I took another class in Silver Clay. These gals are soooo much fun! But I've decided that I don't think this is where my talents lie. I already have so much invested in my stitching and quilting that I think I don't need another hobby at this time.

Basically, this has been a pretty dull week (I love it this way). So, I must get back to loading the motorhome. I'm doing it after dark because it been just too darn hot to be out during the daylight.

Toodles!

Award Received; Latest Ordeal; AOK

I am totally honored to have received this award from Barb http://mystitchingtreasures.blogspot.com/ Thank you Barb! Now I must choose eight friends to pass it on to. Ouch! Only eight? Just the number of wonderful friends that have sent thoughts and prayers during this latest ordeal has been overwhelming. I don't think I can do that! (plus, I need to lay down soon) Soooo, I'm sending this award on to all of you who read my blog because I consider all of you my friends and cannot choose some over others.

The latest ordeal: my surgery went very well although a tissue patch was needed (very unexpected). They were able to complete the surgery by laproscope. Whew! But... they closed me up with steri strips and band aids. Very bad! I'm very allergic! Next day, before I left hospital I'd pulled the band aids off. They gave me a couple of doses of Benadryl and let me go. (They suggested keeping me another night but I was quite anxious to go, now I know what my anxiety was about.) By week's end my abdomen looked like raw hamburger! Now I'm on steroids, etc. But, at least I'm getting some sleep! Aah!

Also while I was in la-la-land I was chosen by Angela http://hookedonstitches.blogspot.com/ to receive one of her AOKs (Acts Of Kindness). I'm so thrilled! Her stitching is sooo beautiful! Thank you Angela!

Catching Up

Well, I didn't need this! But, I guess I should've been prepared because I knew it was coming. I'm having stomach surgery on Tuesday the 10th. This is going to set me back. I am really trying to get caught up. Time to send out some notices to those expecting action from me.

If you're inclined to pray, your prayers would be appreciated. Thanks

Where does the time go?

I just don't know! Dh & I were discussing this recently and it's amazing to us how fast time is getting away from us. He's just had his 70th birhtday! Whew! I don't think I'll live that long. Guess I better get to work on some of my stash!

Been having a bit of a dry spell stitching wise. I'm trying to do a rotation but it's just not working for me. So I have four major projects sitting here started. Oh no! Am I becoming a serial starter? I get frustrated and go play POGO! So, I haven't stitched in four days... I will tonight!

This is going to be another one of those busy weeks for me! I hate it when all my appointments fall into one week. I have to drive into town three days this week for doctors! (the up side is I can go wander thru Joanne's) Today, on my drive home from town, the guy in front of me had a blowout. I stoped to make sure he was ok. Local rancher hauling cattle!

Thursday we go get our taxes done. (I gave up doing them when we got married)

I am so looking forward to this week-end! Every few months a group of Northwest stitchers get together near Portland. Kind of an informal retreat. I'm going for the first time! So exciting! you'll read plenty more about this next week...
